This weekend, they are having adoption events at my area Petsmarts. They will have pets from the Carolina shelters that were displaced. I don't know if we will have time to adopt one, we are getting our house ready for a coming home party for a couple of my wife's co-workers that are in the National Guard. We are looking for another dog, ever since my 15 year old Bassett died in July.

I’m so sorry about your doggie, I’m sure it had a wonderful life. Hopefully you find another one to love all over again. I hope y’all enjoy the party welcoming them back :)

It's cool, she had a long life. She was a puppy from our first two dogs we had. So we had her since she was a newborn. I'm excited about the party. We bought a sh!tload of American flags, and my wife made some banners yesterday. It's going to be cool, I'll post some pics. It's happening next weekend. I have a ton of house projects to get done.

Oh yeah I’m sure she had a nice long life in a loving home, she was lucky :) Sounds like y’all are getting everything ready. Well good luck getting your projects done and don’t work yourself too hard.

I have bad news. My wife had the vet out today, our coonhound who is 15 years old also, needs to be put down. They think she has breast cancer and has glaucoma in one eye. She has been losing weight, and we switched to can food for her. But, she is in bad shape. She is the sweetest dog we ever had. So gentle, loving, and happy. We are planning on putting her down on Saturday. I don't know when I'll be back on here. I'm a pretty sad about this.

Oh no I’m so sorry! That is terrible. That’s such a bad choice to have to make but you don’t want her in chronic pain. She knows y’all love her and that’s what counts. I’ll be thinking of y’all and take your time, we will be here when you need us or to make you laugh if we can. (Hugs)

Thank you for thinking of me and my dog. It was a rough day. Knowing what time the vet was coming, it's like you try to be with her all you can before she's gone. Friday night we had her sleep with us in our bed. She never was in our newer house, so she was wondering what was going on. But, she was comfortable and loved on til she fell asleep. She slept against me the whole night. Just like a woman, I had to sleep at the edge of the bed. :) On Saturday, we kept bugging her. She just wanted to nap on her dog bed in her dog house. We gave her her favorite treat pepperoni. Kept telling her how much we loved her. It's still rough to talk about. I'll post a memorial for her on here. Just to give her story, which we love to tell. Part of her story, she placed 4th and 5th in the world in coonhound competition. She was a great dog. And thank you for thoughts and hugs. :)

I’m so glad she felt comfortable and y’all got to stay close to her as long as possible. Her last few hours sound like they were good ones. Her story sounds very interesting. Yes definitely do a memorial. And you’re very welcome :)

The party sounds awesome! My dog passed away at 14. Took about 2 yrs to find my new baby. Take your time and your dog will find you. All my love to you and your friends coming home.

It all depends on our male dog. He has to be friendly with whatever we get. And thanks for the kind words.
