When you ask a Polish person for their name

My family on both sides is Polish, but to my Great Grandfather's credit, when he arrived in the Poet of Baltimore in the late 1800's he changed his name to Miller!! lmao!

My last name got shortened in the 1930's,but it still gets misspelled all the time.I always thought I was polish,but my Uncle did some ancestry research this summer & told me it was a Czech name.

Oh yea, I have family who chopped half their name off, too! A lot of Italians did the same...i grew up in Pittsburgh, and i mean there was every ethnic background you could think of! lol

I think I've gone to The Civic once in the last couple months. The last time I was in there the new manager, nice enough of a guy as he was, was measuring out the pours the bartenders should be serving and marking them as an example for the staff. Not a good sign. :P
