Apparent differences of opinion

Me I don't care, repost, new meme, whatever, I'm here to have fun. When i first joined IMGFLIP i didn't know a thing about memes so everyone of them was new to me, so repost brought me laughs. Yes if you are on here long enough its like ""Oh no not that meme again", what people have to realize is there is a lot of turn over on here (IMGFLIP) so things will get recycled. I made "original memes" when I started only to find out that someone obviously thought of it before me, so sometimes repost are not intentional. Making your own original memes is awesome and I fully promote it, but also will not criticize every repost that comes along (Unless say its a front page one and the next day someone else copy and paste it, then I shall just downvote it) I still see memes that are called out repost that I've never saw before and I've been on here 2 years. But trust me I full promote originality and home made memes, its nice to see people open up with their creative side and bring new laughs to IMG that can be shared the world around.

I have mixed opinions on the whole reposting argument. While I do believe that memes are meant to be shared, I also believe that if it's an original meme with original content on an original template, it shouldn't be reposted without the creator's okay. I'm probably going to start watermarking the memes that I create and are original so it's known who did it.

I'm not saying that I would do that, but for anyone not wanting someone else using their personal creation without permission, I can certainly see them using some sort of ID

That's a good idea. How does one go about this watermarking? You know, in a way that can't be cropped out?

I'm not really sure. My brother does the watermark thing on his photos he takes. I'll have to ask him about it.

Now see, I realize that a situation such as THATONE makes me look petty and silly. But my beef is with those who grab a meme off of IMGFLIP less than a week after it was on the front page! lol

Personally, I had repost my own. But, at the time, it was fare game on anybody's. I think most "stolen" reposts were old ones from Imgflip friends.
