Impact, fuel volume, containing it in a limited space, inaccesabilty to firefighters,,,

The nukes tested out in Nevada did less building damage in the desert than they did to Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Go figure.

What a coincidence, huh? i agree with you, also, people dont understand that the Twin Towers weren't built like most skyscrapers, the girders on the outside were load bearing (not a glass or stone non load bearing facade like a lot of buildings) with a concrete and steel core, there were no columns between the core and the outside walls. One the outside load bearing steel was damaged and heated by those fires, they failed. A few minutes after i saw the 2nd plane hit, i knew those buildings were gonna fall, i told my brother and father that, they didnt believe me until the first one fell....

Sorry about the delay.

This was my first encounter with her, lopped off the rest from an ad.

On a forum on a site I used to be on where we can change avatars, I'd use that one when debating dolts even more clueless than myself but who tried to pretend they were smug with their fake knowledge.
Then I find the actual one last year on Pinterest.

Another thing with the buildings was that the girders weren't insulated with sprayed on concrete, leaving them even more exposed to the heat.
James3V6 has a gif about #7, doing the inside job dance. Apparantly never heard of earthquakes. You can see in the gif the building fell from the bottom up, reverse from the other two.

I live in the Bronx, and at the time I lived on the 5th floor of a building where I could see the top of the Empire State Building over a dip in the skyline near Yankee Stadium. Could never see the WTC tho.
On 9/11 I saw from the smoke they where straight South from me, obscured by nearby buildings. First two days the dark plume bent east, then the third it leaned West. Then is started slowly getting lighter...
Not that there was any escaping the thought of it all, but to look out the window and see that.

Round the neighborhood was such a hush, even the cars weren't honking as always it seemed. People walking around in shock, gosh, was so messed up.

yea, I forgot about no insulation on the girders and floor joists. i did plumbing for a long time, mostly new schools and big industrial buildings, i've watched many a time the fire insulation being sprayed onto the beams, decking and joists. i won't pretend to know the dynamics of situation that day, but i could only imagine it had to be overwhelming to the point becoming absolutely mind numbing. I mean, how could one take in and process that much input...i would imagine that quite a few people even today still haven't been able to do that, if anyone? I've always been a patriot, in the ensuing days and weeks i've never felt more....Ummmm....closer..like..brothers and sisters with my fellow citizens, that's at least the feeling that i got from people here in Atlanta, everything was put aside and every was ONE. i remember that day well..... :)

I had some good times in college with Pete Hanson. He used to come to my raging house parties, some good times were had by all. Never met his wife and kid, I found out from a mutual friend he and his family were killed that day.

The meme of your friend watering peppers made me think of my back in the day days. Pete was there in a cast of characters, nothing to do for me but remember how great that part of life was. I should dig those photos out and scan some of them.

Yea, think of the good times...my friend in that picture was one of my friends who had someone he knows killed at the Pentagon...my buddy (the one in the pic) was in the 82nd Airborne (Airborne Alcoholics they called themselves..lol)
