Just amplifying the point: you can use Google (or probably other engines) for a site-specific search. If I'm worried a meme might have been done before here, I use site:imgfliplcom as part of the search to check. Then operators like the handle, the meme type (sometimes works), etc.
Very useful - and not that long a detour.
