Trump is regularly barred from funerals. Making a joke about his, is way different than someone wanting to shoot people, because you don't like it.

Right,..I am a liberal. I don't vote to give rich people money, ignore vets, the poor and the infrastructure,.... and whine that there's no money to give federal workers a raise.....

Didn't say you were a bad person, the issues you highlighted have not occurred overnight, previous administration had failed to address them, its the same the world over, show me a model government anywhere in the world that is able to balance the books and please everyone and I'm with you.

The Swiss have a 50,000 minimum wage, and strict limits on CEO pay and bonus. Completely opposite of America. Denmark has free healthcare, free college, free daycare and a 20.00 minimum wage. They seem quite happy.
Last year Boing got an 82 million dollar tax refund on 5.8 Billion in profits. Effectively that's about a -1.4% tax rate. To actually get a -1.4 tax rate, they got every penny they paid in taxes back, and some of your tax money too. Plus now they have a tax cut to 21%, so they will pay even less. The American middle class and poor got a 1% tax cut. That's 500.00 a year on a 50,000.00 salary. Essentially 9.61 per week, and that expires in 2020. But you're right, no government is perfect. But a lot are a hell of a lot better than what the U.S. has.

There is no minimum wage in Switzerland and the national average pay is between 2000 and 4000 francs per month with an exchange rate of $1.03 to the franc its easy to make a a/b comparison. The pay structure is regional but the collective average pay is 34000 francs for a skilled worker with an average income per household of about 50000 francs combined income, this I find to be the same wherever we go. The cost of living is across all parameters is 46% higher than the USA and 85% higher than the UK.
I agree with your multinational companies tax avoidance schemes statement which is a world wide issue that has to be addressed. We make weekly pharmaceutical deliveries from Breda to Switzerland and although the economy is stable fewer people own property there than anywhere else in Europe and if things don't change in Europe there is a real fear that Switzerland will head down the same path as Sweden. For all the bitching and fighting the USA still is the best place to be if you've got a job and really bad if you haven't, but probably the best equal opportunity place in the world and not many will agree with that I'm sure.

The proposed minimum wage was 25.00 per hour. 90% of Swiss workers earn more than the proposed minimum and are already among the highest paid in the world. At 25.00 an hour, and a 40 hour week,... that is 1000.00 a week and 52 weeks a year is 52,000.00. Besides relatively high average salaries in Switzerland, worker rights are also better than in some other European countries. The Swiss government sets limits on the amount of hours employees are allowed to work – 45 for office staff and retail workers, and 50 for other salaried workers. Overtime must be paid at 125% of the normal wage. The cost of living is a bit higher. Swiss are required to purchase basic health insurance, which covers a range of treatments detailed in the Swiss Federal Law on Health Insurance. ( part of the higher cost of living ) An investment in the quality of life.

Points well taken but lets look a worker by which we can compare exact incomes, a Registered Nurse. USA $67930 or $1306 per week, Switzerland CHF58,958 or CHF1133 per week, Germany €27105 or €521.25 per week. These are national fixed salaries for a RN with up to 20 years service doing the same job. Allowing for exchange rate conversion the USA is tops. Oddly it was a surprise to find in the United Kingdom the pay scale is $24000 less than the USA and Switzerland but better than Germany.
International pay scale tables never take into account and no offence meant here the earnings of the grunts, the over worked under paid Mr. & Ms. average none skilled worker who are the real back bone of any economy. It is quite clear that the term minimum wage really means 'that's the most you will ever earn' which brings me back to the multinational tax avoidance companies that thrive on the minimum wage. They keep the poor, poor by paying crap salaries and themselves richer by avoiding paying taxes.
Migrants want to come to the USA because they still see a new life awaits you in the off world colonies, a chance to begin again in a golden land of opportunity and adventure. sorry stole the from Phil Dick but it does make my point, The USA is still the place to be.
