I'm the same way. Once I woke up and smelled something bad. It was a pot I left on the burner overnight and the metal had dripped off the sides. :-)

My father melted the iron once. Though I do not recall a stink from it. But again it was actually on fire, so maybe the smell of all the other parts burning masked the melted metal.

I did it three times in a row the other night lol. I need to set a timer

Dead freaking serious here. Because once I received on for Christmas I never boiled another pot of water dry again. They have some which have the whistling feature, some beep, some remain silent. They have glass ones, plastic ones, stainless steel ones... where's Bubba when ya need him! I feel like I'm giving you the run down on shrimp. You can find the electric kettles at Target, wal-mart, maybe Amazon if you shop online. Plus you don't have to fire up the energy sucking stove just for a fawking cup of tea!
