We in the West prided ourselves in the fact that we are more enlightened and evolved than the generations before us.
We are more learned and more humane; we possess greater tolerance for others than ever before, and we have governances that answers to the people, rather than the other way around.
And yet it seemed that we've also are going the way of the Roman Empire as we are so driven by our desire to see the gore, suffering of others, and the bodies of the opposite sex.
What's more alarming is that we do not have the same reverence and respect for law and authority anymore in how we see our parents and law enforcement.
In addition, we are increasingly calling bad "Good" and good "Bad". The rise of the "Anti-Heroes" is an indicator as well as too many of us loving Gangster Rap which glorifies gang lifestyle and the objectifying of the female gender.
And at the same time, we jeer the older generation who have a low view of Millenials (not all fit the image and yet you can't deny that there's enough of to create a reputation) and moralist groups as we look for any signs moral failings as an excuse to not listen to them.
Are we going the way of the Roman Empire?
If things continue the way they are, then we will.
