"Free speech" pertains to the government only....not private industry. So this isn't a free speech issue. "free speech advocates" should rejoice at this decision as the private companies freedoms/rights are being used legally . He violated THEIR terms. The terms you agree to when you sign up to use the platforms. Regardless of where I stood or stand on "gay cakes" and bakeries...the outcome was/is what it was/is.......you can't defend the rights of one private industry over another. As much as you can't defend the rights of aone individual over another. Once THAT happens we are ALL in trouble.

The "free speech" thing was just to make a meme...i wasn't planning on a campaign to have the term redefined. neither am i on the bandwagon that's started rolling about having these private services taken over and run as "public utilities"

For the record, I was on the side of the gay couple in the cake debate. If you want to operate any kind of business within a "free" market, then you serve whoever walks in your door, and if that violates your religious or political principles....tough!

I am pretty liberal but stand for rights of private individuals and businesses. A business should have the right to refuse to serve anyone any time for any reason. HOWEVER if they blatantly say they are refusing to serve some one in a way that it infringes on the protected rights of others (ie- goes against discrimination laws in effect because we suck at being a species and need laws to tell us what the RIGHT things to do is...) then too bad for that business owner for being a scumbag.

Alex Jones broke the terms these private businesses had in place that he (or his proxies) agreed to.

The bakeries refuse to serve people that (should) have protected rights.If the state in which the business resides doesn't adhere to anti discrimination laws....then a federal law should be put in place....or move to a better state.

I feel that way but I have empathy for others. I guess I am a "LIBERALtarian"
