Do you think most Americans wanted a damaged candidate like Hillary with all her ethical baggage, questionable financial dealings going back 40+ years and shadowy backers to win? Do you think the majority of Americans wanted Bernie Sanders, someone who calls himself a Socialist but would be more correctly called a social democrat? Do you understand what my point was? My point is for the year and a half leading up to the 2016 election, the rhetoric against DJT ratcheted up from contempt to outright insanity. The Left brought DJT upon themselves with their insanity, their vitriolic bile and their lack of understanding of optics. The Left made DJT. You’re just mad that he’s better at playing the media than they are at responding.

The DNC told their base that Hillary was a guaranteed win, and didn't count on the base believing that, as many opted to stay home and not bother voting for a 'sure shot' practically forced upon them.
Trump got as many votes as Romney did. Apathy, as well as mistrust and boredome with the fake bland Clinton machine did her in.
In the meantime, a more fervent upsurge of reactionary fringe elements in support of Trump helped the more the moderate base in getting him in.

Also, don’t forget the agitators who showed up at Trump rallies and started incidents, assaulted Trump supporters and damaged a lot of property. This trend has only intensified over the last two years. Now, Democrat politicians are openly calling for harassment and menacing of administration officials and any Trump supporters, and the MSM is mostly assisting them. This sort of behavior is going to galvanize regular centrists to vote against those whom they see with their own eyes behaving as “extremists”. I’d rather see the Democrat party talk about solutions rather than just “I hate Trump” rhetoric.

You may think Bernie Sanders is out there, but I’ve met the man and unlike your hero Bernie has been the same man his whole life. Fighting the good fight. BTW, IMO, while I disagree without Sanders’ politics, I always felt he was at least honest and honorable. He got screwed by the HRC cabal in the DNC, and they must have family members of his as hostages if he kept his mouth shut about it for two years.

Here are some facts. The media were attack dogs against a presidential candidate. They all voted for HRC (well, I imagine except for FNC.) The Left sent agitators to Trump events to stir up riots. The Left attacked Trump supporters at rallies. Do you understand that when the majority of people outside the Leftist bubbles on the coast saw all these stories, it made Trump look like the same choice? God, the Left used to understand optics. JFK is a good example of that.

Actually FOX News also was against Trump during the primaries. Only as his win seemed more a possibility did they start to favor him.

These people have a huge platform, and they’ve used it to demonize some rich guy for years whose previous claim to fame was casinos, bankruptcies and “The Apprentice”. How do you think that looked to the people who weren’t interested in voting for him before? Don’t you think this made a number of them decide to vote for him in 2016?
