Not always. Mom was a farm girl, Dad a direct salesman that worked out of the house. Still, they enjoyed their childhood, and I recall Mom often wishing she were back on the farm. When I was a wage slave, I put up with it to support my wife and kids. Do I ever wish I had the simple life of a child. Yeah, even when I was a kid. Until my ticker kicked up 10 years ago, I'd worked most of my life, including my childhood.
