Actually you proved my point, you are one of the people it addressed, you fear firearms because you are a coward, you attacked the meme because of the same reason. Don't worry though, there are plenty of people that will face down evil for you.

If you took my meme as a full on representation of my beliefs then that's fairly short sighted. It was a joke from my point of view, i dont fear guns because im smart enough to know that statistically im in more danger driving my car everyday. As far as evil goes, i quit believing in the boogyman right along with the tooth fairy. Crime has been on the decline since 1991 and im not one to let the 24/7 availability of news warp my scope on the world.

Crime hasn't been on the decline around me, guess that could explain the different world view. I am sorry about the coward comment, normally I am able to stay above personal attacks. We have plenty of gun haters locally, most are criminals, that doesn't excuse my comment but it should help explain it.

It's cool, i'm the kind of person that likes to debate with people. Not in an 'im right about everything and i want to show you how dumb you are' way but to challenge myself with a point of view i couldnt have (i.e. your's for example) and that sort of thing happens sometimes, ive done it myself. The fact that you noticed it means your passionate about what you believe and not just regurgitating what you hear (whichever side of any given issue you may be on).
I hope i don't sound condescending but it's instinces like this that keep me thinking it's not as bad as it seems out there. You apologized and it takes a big person to do it, especially when you're under no pretense to do so. Thank you.
Even on different sides of an issue, if we can still recognize the validity in each others views civility isn't lost.
