The FOIA request can only denied/redacted by the prosecutor or presiding judge over the case if the video has pertinent information to the prosecution of the offense (or any offense on the video). But once it is adjudicated there is nothing stopping the unredacted release, and must release it.

If they are ignored, then they should be done through the state's Attorney Generals Office noting that previous requests have been ignored at the lower government levels.

It actually gets worse - I saw a state AG rule for example (not exactly the same but same principle) in response to complaints about electoral misconduct that they would refuse to examine any citizen complaint about electoral misconduct :-/

But you are correct, it's a shame there is no reporting on the entire story.

I agree. I feel really sorry for the real victims involved.

Sometimes? The whole story is not relevant when a cop is filmed abusing rights.

But this is nothing new, the arrestee crying rights violation because they did not "feel" as though they should be arrested. It is just nowadays there is social media platforms where the ill informed go off the arrested parties "I am all innocent" point of view with a video only showing the later half of the events and large number of this ill informed NOT researching any farther and believing what they are fed. Rather than seeking the whole truth.

1st, the original meme is not specific to any particular event/case so my reply to the meme is 100% valid and 2nd? the meme i posted is 100% valid due to viewing and reading social media in america. Simply being a subject of interest makes you guilty in the eyes of LE and LE sycophants . You never need even walk into a court room and your convicted by the public. AGAIN if i see video of a cop violating the rights of a subject guilty or innocent? The cop is now a criminal as well..

1st: The original meme is in response to a specific event...
https://abcnews.go.com/amp/US/woman-falsely-accused-texas-state-trooper-sexual-assault/story?id=55407714
2nd: Your explanation there merges two separate points of view; A) that Media/Socialmedia is jury in these events even before they are made aware of all the facts surrounding the events, which is true and that is a problem in the current information based society we now live in. & B) Thought guilty by LE is guilty is just not true if you look at the entire due process of a conviction and case laws surrounding rights of the suspect. For starters, look up "FRUIT OF THE POISONOUS TREE" Doctrine. Also, based on the prosecution process, there are far more Wrongful Acquittals/Dismissals than there are Wrongful Convictions thanks to our Due Process to protect the citizens against violations of their rights.
& C) If ANY government official violates a citizens rights, they are in violation of established law. Guilt or Innocence is established in a court of law when going through above mentioned "Due Process", not in media/socialmedia. Which is where a lot of the Case Law comes from that I mentioned in response to your Batman & Robin meme.

All I can say to the fruit of the poisonous tree. Look up UTAH v Shrieff. SCOTUS basically gutted the 4th Amendment in 2016. You seem to be making a lot of excuses for the fact LE is in fact corrupt for many reasons. If you’d like to chat more. Find me on FB. Jamie Fredrickson.

Utah v. Strieff is an interesting read. I have to say I side with dissent opinions of that one. It would be interesting to know when those Judges were appointed and by who, but I think that'll be an in front if the computer job.
But for fact, most LE are not corrupt, as with any role comprised of humans, there are going to be those who make a bad name for the other majority. And then the stereotype applied to all.
As for FB, I am not on it.

Ok..lol cops are not corrupt??? Study up on ASSET FORFITURE another totally UNCONSTITUTIONAL action by LE. It's the process where they steal your money or property and don't even need to charge or arrest you..Reply back because I can do this all FING day..

I am familiar with asset forfeiture. Such as money and property procured through illegal activity like the sale of narcotics or human trafficking. So you are saying if someone amasses large amounts of money through from selling drugs they should be allowed to keep it? Or not pay tax on it? And if someone s trafficking women or kids to ell them or pimp them out, they too should be allowed to keep the money made through their illegal activities?

WOW..You just completely ignored the illegal actions of LE. And what i posted. I'll explain it one more time since you don't grasp it. THEY TAKE MONEY AND PROPERTY FROM PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT BEEN CHARGED, ARRESTED, OR FOUND GUILTY!!!! UNDERSTAND NOW???? Probably not not so sleep tight Nancy. I can't stand people who deflect via cognitive dissonance and confirmation biases along with other logical fallacies sleep tight in your delusion of false freedom

I understand the words you have typed however that being your point of view does not change my point of view that I have not experienced, witnessed, seen reported, or any judicial outcomes of illegal activity of that nature. But since you can research (ex: Utah v Strieff), where is the information that has helped you form your point of view?

Lucky they had the body cam to prove what really happened. There was a similar incident last month:

This is a good one as well....
The New York Port Authority Commissioner got herself fired for intervening on a traffic stop where her daughter was merely a passenger and there was going to be no arrests made. If you are looking for a break down of events, there are a few review videos of this on YouTube as well.

Horrible! I find it interesting that, according to the article, people are quoted as stating they won't watech the camera footage - that they believe what they are being told by the NAVAL guy! Truly unbelievable.

More often than not, the arrestee is unaware that almost every encounter with a lawman is being recorded by at least one camera, if not multiple (in car camera & bodycam). And since the lies associated are typically very sensationalized, the masses who do no further research grab it and run with it. That is where the media SHOULD be stepping in, but unfortunately they step out right before that moment.

It is. A woman in Texas claimed a whole bunch of nasty allegations against a police officer. The officer was wearing a body camera. Thos proved the woman's allegations as false.

And should any law contradict the constitution they are not obligated to enforce it. That's how case law comes about, and not cop wants to be part of case law.
Case Law = a criminal case that has come into question if validity through prosecution or appeal that resulted in a supreme court (state or national) establishing findings as CASE LAW to help refine definitions of law for enforcement, prosecution, or state of constitutional/unconstitutional.

They don't enforce the unconstitutional laws or they will end up being case law, which is NOT what Officers, LE Departments, or Prosecutors want to end up being part of.
