It's tough on old folks or people starting to suffer the effects of Alzheimer's to lose their license, but for the safety of all, it has to be done.

OMG.... My Nanny never should have been driving from day one. She was always a danger even before she was 85 years old. She still thinks she ought to be able to drive.

My dad disappeared for about 5 hrs. The police pulled him over (I think for going too slow). We just wanted him home so they towed his car back (I think $300 later). I had to hide his car a few blocks away as he was looking for a spare set of keys.

That can be scary when they go missing. My great uncle went missing in the woods and fortunately they found him about 6 hours later. He did end up in a home. Another thing people don't realize is that dementia in all it's forms can cause the person to become very hostile. Which can also be dangerous is they wander away and encounter someone who does not know they have this problem.

And sometimes - drive just fast enough to avoid getting hit by speed demons!

I typically hover around 80 on the highway. It really irks me when I am in the center lane at this speed and fool wants to ride my bumper when the left lane is wide open!

How about the people who are zooming right along, and then they get up to your car and all of a sudden slow to your speed and stay right next to you?

And my favorite - when they speed up to get in front of you, then go slower than you're going, forcing you to take evasive action.

Then there's PARKING. But we'd better not get started on that one yet. I've got a lot more messages and memes to cover today! :-)
