It takes a lot longer for custom memes, but I have noticed that they're not featuring all of them. Or... as soon as it features, the downvote trolls attack and put them back to "submitted" status.
I saw it feature. It was listed on my profile. And then when I checked later, it said "submitted", and it was no longer on my profile. Other memers have told me the same thing.
