People standing up to overarmed, self appopinted vigilantes like the parkland kids is a blending of the two. I support the right of individuals to responsibly own weapons, beyond serving to protect the constitution. I am more liberal than the original colonists, many of whom locked up the guns of the "well regulated militia," to keep them safe between official uses. I think that almost all people who own weapons are unlikely to misuse them, based on hundreds of millions of weapons being owned by tens of millions of citizens. But, I also think that the 2nd amendment allows for the "regulation," of weapons and ownership that would decrease drastically mass killings.
