I asked about that awhile back. "View" does NOT mean "saw it". It means "opened it". I now open in a new tab whenever I upvote. Then I just close the tab without actually switching.
Stupid of Imgflip. Also, I frequently post on Facebook. There is no counter for that--which would be much more useful.
