I have hyperacusis. In a nutshell, sound hurts me. The sound of my own voice is like a knife in my brain. I have permanent nerve damage. This came for the Bell's Palsy I had several years ago which paralyzed half of my face. It also paralyzed the muscles responsible for the acoustic reflex on the Bell's Palsy side. The other ear became sympathetic so I have this crazy sensitivity in both ears. I cannot do playgrounds, loud music, restaurants, movies, people slamming freezer doors on the frozen aisle, etc... among other things. Certain pitches are also painful no matter the volume, and often certain sound effects in music falls into this.
The offending sounds cause things like (but not limited to) a rolling sound/sensation behind my ear drum, the feeling that a string is being pulled through my brain, a vibrating, jarring feeling through the inside of my head, a tapping sound/feeling on my ear drums, a crackling sound in my ears, a buzzing in my head and ears, dizziness, confusion, the inability to think. There is no cure. I just have to cope.
It doesn't cause me headaches. My headaches usually come from stress or lady hormones. Thankfully I do not have tinnitus. That would drive me insane!
