Yeah... I close it after I can't figure it out. Then open it again when I want to punish my self some more! LOL! I mean I dunno I looked at the tutorials. Here's what happens. I will go around the perimeter of object that is to be cut, then use the magic wand tool, a busy looking effect covers most but not all of whatever I was attempting to cut. I can never get the whole thing to do. I keep trying thinking I will figure this thing out.

Make a general shape around it - leave a border of junk. After you isolate the part you want, you can select the junk with the magic wand individually and delete.
that's how I finally got doMima's head and hair.

Unless there's a very clear distinction between the interesting part and the background, you have to do it this way.

Also, coollew said to zoom way in and use the eraser tool around the edges. At the top you'll see a width thingy for the eraser. This will help a LOT.

I wouldn't say it's behind the scenes, but I got it from a WatchMojo video that said David Lee Roth (?) was inspired to write the song after watching someone on TV who was about to jump off a building etcetera... Maybe the song's not ABOUT suicide but certainly inspired by it
