A chemical attack was not in Assad's interest when we were talking about exiting. Could it have been the rebels grasping to keep us there, possibly. Russia, looking to keep us there running us deeper and deeper in debt like we did them in Afghanistan is another. Iran to keep us engaged for propaganda purposes is another. Assad was probably the only one happy we announced an exit and willing to do what it took to facilitate that.

We need to stop pretending to be the WORLD-WIDE POLICE. There is an international entity with troops to do that.

We pay our dues and contribute troops. That should be where it ends.

Well, human misery and suffering should end. Probably not as profitable for the military industrial complex lobby members though.
