friends for hire

That actually happened to me some years ago. Furniture store, family-owed, and they hired a family friend, only to regret it soon after--I ran into the boss afterward and he was actually complaining to me about the new hire (shakes head)...

Ha :-) that's kinda how it ended, except I didn't have to say anything...I just gave him a rather sardonic look (leer?) and walked away.

Still ended up with no job...but as the meme says...:-) dodging bullets is always a good thing :-)

I did, eventually...ended up working at a curio's shop and for the best boss ever :-)

i'm glad that you have the best boss ever, a lot of people would be envious.

That was many years ago....retired now :-) concentrating on my music now, among other things :-)

I have had guy friends who I never had a clue were interested. Not until I had a boyfriend. Then suddenly it's "I was just about to ask you out!" Or when the relationship ended they would then speak up. Right at the time when I was not into getting involved for a while.

Understandable. I do know from experience how it can make things weird if they don't "like you in that way." Kinda makes a person want to go and crawl under a rock and stay there until fossilized.

Some don't want change and some can't predict change. Some don't want to be responsible for the change if it goes bad.

Damn right you are. I admit, I have a person I think I'm very glad I never tried to pursue. For that reason. Maybe the friend zone isn't always the worst place to be,

It's neutral and somewhat safe and predictable yet holds the mystery of what could be (good and bad).
