Oh, yes, both political parties do the same thing: try to defeat each other in various ways. It normally has nothing to do with genuine issues, and it's all about political victories. For example, bother sides are trying to undercut the other by destroying significant sources of funding. The Dems want the NRA gone because they give lots of money to the Republicans. The Republicans are on a union-busting binge because the unions support and give lots of money to the Democrats. Both sides do it to the detriment of the American people.
