First of all, a government killing mass amounts of its population has happened before (Nero burned 2/3 of Rome to the ground for example), secondly, what could be more bothersome than a nuke? Third of all, even if you don't buy the argument that the government could nuke us at any moment, they could still gain an edge by using weapons we have no way of accessing, such as bullets that track their target (yes, those exist, and I'm pretty sure you don't have any).

Doesn't matter the argument still applies to most weapons...do you have a fighter jet, can you shot one down with your handgun? No.

3. The fact that this is so common, there's a name for it: democide. You still think the government can't slaughter their own public? But still, in either scenario, you lose the argument, either 1. the government can't hurts its public, which means there is no scenario where you would need guns or 2. the government is entirely willing to use weapons of mass destruction on its public meaning that guns are entirely useless.

neither of those publics were armed, you never see an armed public being fought by its own government. It's how revolutions are made possible, and it's how we keep ourselves free of oppression

Meanwhile, the government have tanks, airplanes, a police force, and the CIA to track you down, but at least you have a firearm to stop all of the government's forces from attacking you at once!

Why are terrorists still alive, even with our mass army? The simple answer is guerilla tactics, they work. And If you don't like your firearm, use it and take a better one.

Exactly, look at what the Vietcong did to us in Vietnam with just a few assault rifles, improvised explosive devices, and shit smeared bamboo stakes. Or what modern terrorist groups have done to our military over the last 18 years. One can learn and benefit from history or ignore it and be destroyed by one's ignorance.
