This is my response to the meme that says God doesn't hate gays, and it's the church that does. It's a strange thing to say.

i agree with this statement, though i'm not sure if it can be applied to gay people, since you're not doing anything wrong if a.) you don't hurt people and b.) it's not really your fault in the first place.

Yeah and also, he's saying, "what they're doing is wrong," and that makes no sense, because homosexuality is a quality and not an act. "What you're doing is wrong, you should try being straight." I remember this guy referring to gay sex as "deviant sexual practice," by standard of the Bible. So really, it just boils down to whether or not you believe in God, or what you believe God thinks. It's purely a moral argument. Moral arguments are not arguments, therefore, it should not be a topic of debate.

i didn't want to go into the realm of accusations, but you are right in your point (though i would specify that it's about what god thinks, not wether you belief in him. i know some progressive theists) i do like the argument saying that you can still love people you disagree with
