Nevermind the fact that here in Colorado, we have more marijuana dispensaries than both Starbucks & 7-11's combined and that it is a very important part of our economy now. Any intelligent person that studies the laws regarding marijuana prohibition understands it has always been about greed. It's no coincidence that Henry Anslinger of the House of Ways and Means Committee convinced Congress to outlaw marijuana the same time and year DuPont patented nylon. Nylon stood no chance against Hemp.

I couldn't agree with you more, and I'm sure the nylon situation was probably some kind of payback for campaign contributions or some other kind of favor. Politics is so dirty. Now a days it rarely is what's good for the people, it's what's best for the bottom line dollar. The legalization of marijuana is no different, look at the taxes they put on it. They needed more tax dollars and the public by their vote said marijuana was something they wanted legalized. So to politicians it's no different than the prohibition of alcohol, when they need the tax dollars it's ok to do.

Henry Anslinger got his position in the government through his wife's father Andrew Mellon whom was involved heavily in the petroleum industry and had associates in Alcoa and DuPont, which patented synthetic petroleum based nylon in 1937, the same year marijuana was prohibited.
Yes, our government has become a joke, specially Congress whom no longer represents the taxpayers but rather the corporations that give them the most money.

Such hypocrisy and corruption. Politicians put greed and power over the people.
