"Charlotte the Harlot" and the sequel "22 Acacia Avenue" are about prostitution. XD They also do literature like "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" and Celtic lore like "Isle of Avalon". Look up and down their catalogue and you'll find little of the usual concerns of metal bands. ;)

I get what you're saying about the Blaze era, but two of my favorites from that time are 'Man on the Edge' and 'The Clansman', they still did some of those songs live after Bruce returned.

Totally forgot about "The Clansman"! The song easily tops everything Maiden recorded during the 90's,and even some 2000's stuff!

I've had The Trooper ale and was surprised how palatable it was, though I guess I shouldn't have been being it was made by a reputable British brewery. I haven't been able to find any of their 666 ale though.

Rime of the Ancient Mariner came from the Samuel Taylor Coleridge poem. I think the influence for The Trooper came from a similar direction also as Tennyson's poem The Charge of the Light Brigade was pretty much required for memorization in English schools.
