I've seen comments with flags only, which oddly means you can't reply to them. I usually reply on my own lines then. I think it's trolls that flag them for some reason, but for a while I was wondering if some users had some sort of ignore Tool.

Yeah, which is why I post on my own comments when keeping the conversation alive. Takes a bit to get used to, but Works for me :D
