I've never been hired because I'm native American. From the time I was in the army to the degree I've earned in college is what got me a job/career.

Us "Indians" are not all dumb and having a College or university has a spot for native Americans that qualified, then what's wrong with that? There's only like 2% of native Americans left in the US. Think about that? Going from 20 million down to a few million (the 2% is because US is about 350 million).

But these days, people claim native American ancestry like it's something they bought at a store and now own. Trust me, I've been told countless times about how someone I met is "part Indian".

I don't know where I'm going with all this.. I think it was the implication that if someone's not white they get the job. Affirmative action stuff. It doesn't really exist. Not in the way people believe. It's a token hire. Just need one black brown yellow red person to say your company is diverse.

It's true. This kind of stuff about the "need for diversity" can be extremely dangerous. It leads to unqualified people getting jobs and qualified people getting no jobs. If your race doesn't matter, why does it matter so much?

It does exist in some parts of the country. The more liberal progressive areas tend to hire based on skin color because they have to fill some bullshit quota. Austin, Texas is a good example of where this crap takes place. And it's mostly college applications rather than jobs. A lot of these "progressive" schools are required to fill a certain quota of mixed race rather than the qualifications of the applicant.

Personally, I think high school shouldn't teach that college is usually the next step after high school. I would rather someone go to a trade school and become an electrician and earn 60-70k a year and not have college debt most their lives. Or join the armed forces for a couple years. It's an indirect answer to what you're talking about as far as "let then in if they're not white" schools.

Trade schools are far better.

Ugh. I feel ya. I am Jamaican, well, I have Jamaican ancestry. But I swear when ever I bring up the fact that I'm Jamaican, they say their Jamaican, too. But they're not. And when ever I'm trying to get a job, I don't bring my race up at all! I'm afraid I won't be hired cuz if I bring up that I'm Jamaican, i'm probs not gonna get a job cuz the employer is a f**king racist asshole. Race don't matter, but I still gotta watch my back.
