For those who don't know what this is about, the Allies needed diversions to make the Germans think D-Day would not be at Normandy. The Brits built a large number of balloons that looked like tanks, etc., and put them in locations that looked like logical staging areas. So when German bombers flew over those areas, they saw tanks, etc., and reported back to the German high command, which sent troops, etc., to the place that WOULD HAVE been attacked if that was a REAL staging area.

Also, one of the top U.S. generals had been removed from command. He was sent to that area so rumors would get back to Germany that he was there, since there WOULD be a top level general on the ground if it HAD been a real staging area.

im pretty sure it was general patton that your talking about... he had just slapped a soldier when the soldier lost his nerve to fight and was taking up a bed that patton though should go to a wounded soldier... the AXIS powers couldn't believe that he would be punished over that... so when D-day came they put him with the fake army
