He also was the one who put aside all the land we now call national parks! And the only President from the 20th century on Mount Rushmore! I wonder why? :)

He set aside Mariposa Grove and Yosemite Valley in 1864 :) As president, Roosevelt created five national parks, 18 national monuments, 51 bird sanctuaries, began the National Wildlife Refuge system and set aside more than 100 million acres for national forests. :)

American History has always been my favorite subject since I was very young! And I love the outdoors and nature! My Mother always said I was born a hundred years too late :)

On October 14, 1912, an unemployed saloonkeeper shot former president and Progressive Party candidate Theodore Roosevelt outside a Milwaukee hotel. Rather than being rushed to the hospital, Roosevelt insisted on delivering his scheduled 90-minute speech. By slowing the bullet, those lengthy prepared remarks may actually have saved his life.
Actually gave his speech instead of seeking treatment. Imagine how tough he was in battle during WW1 and The Spanish American War. I know he was highly decorated and highly reveered by the men under his command. Yes, Octavia he was a game hunter (something I oppose) but first and fore most, he was a patriot.

I don't even know...I bet that if George Washington was resurrected or any other of this nations founding fathers were, they would probably slap some people because this is not what they wanted this nation to become.Like they say "United we stand, divided we fall"

Even right now I want to slap some people.I won't care if I get sent to a juvenile detention center for hitting a government official. It would be worth it.

My dad's 83 years old and a hard core Patriots fan. Guess what? He stopped watching all the NFL games because of the players who wouldn't stand during the national anthem. But, that's to be expected from someone who fought in the Korean War.

And that's what's f**ked up. Veterans should be able to go out to honor the flag and the freedom that they fought for.

I agree, he went out there because he was a veteran and not just a millionaire playing football so he has a better understanding than the rest what that flag and anthem stands for.
