We have a local place that friends of ours owns. It's really good. I don't know how they make money with all the toppings they load up on it. My wife talked the previous owner, who our friends worked for there, to have a Hawaiian pizza. He didn't like Hawaiian, but he did it anyway. Later he said it was one of the top sellers. There is a fancy pizza place that moved into our area with a stone oven. They expanded from where I grew up. It is really good, very fresh ingredients and a bar atmosphere. It's use to be a bar anyway.

That sounds awesome. I like Hawaiian pizza, lived there for 5 years so all the restaurants have that lol That’s really cool that they added it! We like to make our own too. My granddaddy could throw the dough and all that. My mom has told me stories.

You would think, me being half Italian I would be able to make homemade pizza. Mine is just a little better than Dominoes. Lol And I'm jealous you lived in Hawaii. I'll get there someday, it's so beautiful in pictures. But just like the Grand Canyon, you have to see it. Pictures don't do justice. I remember you said it was expensive to live there. Even visiting is expensive.:)

If you go during fall/winter you can go for super affordable. Get your flight/hotel/car as a package deal. That’s what I did after chads last deployment ended. I went back to see him that way(I moved home during that one because it was a year and a half) anyway that’s the only vacay me and him have ever had. I spent less than 2k on everything and was there 2 weeks!

I would whale watch, I can't swim. I will check it out. We need to get our cash flow back to normal (2 houses for now). But, it is definitely on top of our travel list. I love nature and so does my wife. We honeymooned out west. Went to Vegas, then headed to the Grand Canyon where we camped. Went back through Vegas and camped overnight in Death Valley. Then off to Kings Canyon/ Giant Sequoia national park. Then to Yosemite. Then back to Vegas. Stupid of us to come and go to Vegas for the flight.

That sounds like it was a blast! I’ve always wanted to see all those. Someday hopefully. You can do a lot of other stuff in Hawaii besides swim so you’d still enjoy it. And if you love nature, well it’s an oasis.

Yosemite and the Grand Canyon are magical places. Words and pictures cannot describe it. When you drive to Yosemite, there is overlooks to see the valley from afar. You can't see any buildings, campers or roads. When you are right there, it's like a fairy tale land. I can't describe how beautiful it is. And the giant sequoia trees are unreal. They are 250 foot tall or more. They grow only at a certain mountain height. We rented a convertible, driving up the mountain. The pine trees are big to begin with. Then all the sudden you see these huge giant sequoias. And they are all over. It was amazing. You have to go there.

Chain pizza is terrible. Some of it is like eating pizza toppings on cardboard.

I would like to go to Wyoming, but I don't know if anything is there. Wow, must have been something to move all that way. How old were your kids then?

So they were 4, 8 and one turned 12 that same week we moved. They all rode with me most of the way and chad drove the moving truck. It was extremely stressful. There’s not much in Wyoming but we lived inside Grand Teton National Park which is amazing, it’s near Jackson Hole.

Grand Teton's I forgot about that being there. I thought it was Montana. I would love to see that too. That's cool you lived there. We bought a National Park passport, which has all the parks and info. It's like a real passport where you stamp your visit with the date of being there. Each park has a stamping area in the visitor center. We bought them when we were out west. It's something to relive and to plan to go to type thing. We have been to the Smokie Mountains the most due to it being a day drive. If you get a chance, check out Mammoth Cave in my home state of Kentucky. It is unreal, plus Kentucky has plenty of other tourist attractions that many don't know about. There is so many thing to do and see. The Bourbon Trail is very popular.

Yeah y’all should go back! Bet your wife would love to. I do wanna see mammoth cave, matter of fact Chad applied for a job there last year but he got this one so here we are. My best friend just moved from fort Campbell to Nashville so maybe when we go see them, we can see the caves.

That picture is beautiful, just amazing. Nashville is an awesome city. I would move there in a heartbeat. That place has a vibe to it. And the people there are just like the one's here where I live. I have so much fun in Nashville, my brother-in-law loves going to Tootsies. Fun place, they have a webcam showing the stage and the first booth next to it on their website. If your lucky, the acts that play at the Ryman, come over and play song with the band that is there. And it's big named people that do it.

Nashville is really cool. I haven’t been in years so I can’t wait to visit! They just bought their first home so they are excited to finally get to settle down. Maybe I’ll check that place out! Sounds like fun

Sorry to revisit this, I was thinking. If Chad wants a career with a company, General Electric does a veteran's programs. They have plants allover the country and the world. They have many different careers to chose from, or even a entry level. He can apply at GEcareers.com or browse the jobs on there at any location. I work at the Evendale plant. And I do alright for myself. I know it's none of my business what he does, I just wanted to help.

I’ll definitely tell him about that. He has a really good job right now and he wants to stick with federal if he can because he can add his campaign time (deployments) for retirement so with that being 8 years rounded up and over 3 and a half since retiring and working, he’s got almost 12 years and could retire in his early 50s. He’s still got to use his gi bill for school and he’s only 37. But we need to be living somewhere we want to stay so he can finish once he starts. The houses here are expensive. We would like to buy a house but if we keep waiting it would be pointless. I thought for sure he had gotten a job in a town I found my dream house (and affordable) in a few weeks ago but it didn’t work out. I’ll check out that website, thanks for telling me about it.

You welcome, I want my friends to have the best in life. If I can help them, I will. I know you guys will make it, you both are very smart and good people. I know GE is good about deployments. I'm glad to help.
