Yeah, what I probably should've made more clear on this meme is that I'm against political correctness myself; on both wings of the political divide. It's just that some users on here make outrageous statements and then back down from them by saying they're just being politically incorrect. That's rubbish, they're just a$$holes. :P I support women getting all the chances they can, along with equal pay for equal work, but when I hear all this talk from the far left about micro-aggression and trigger points I'm just hearing another form of conservatism. Reed College, here in Portland, is one of the worst. Professors getting shouted down for even expounding liberal ideas. I'm for an open society. What's the point of being equal or having a full belly if your new healthier being can't express itself in a creative manner? I'm not going to give up my freedoms for a perfectly equal society, which is an impossibility anyway. Like their compadres on the right, puritanical lefties are authoritarian as they seek to close society to achieve their aims. I'm an unapologetic liberal, but to me liberalism means the autonomy of the individual, not pointless 'democratic socialism'. I just want to do what I want, as long as it doesn't directly physically harm someone else. Individual freedom is not the cause of the right - they seek to repress my liberties under the guise of patriotism - and they and the far left are brothers-in-arms in attempts to suppress the rights of all in order to create what they consider a perfect society. But this society would be closed and there's no freedom in that.

And that's me in a nutshell. XD

Yea man I’m the same as you, I am in the middle I feel everyone should be equal. In the Army they were huge on equal opportunity so that has carried with me still to this day.

Thanks. Dude below kind of frightens me a bit. Not personally, but what kind of person would dis-include other citizens in freedoms available to all for reasons no better than being different? Is this common in the armed forces nowadays (answer only if you feel comfortable doing so)?

P.s. they even have to go to gender equality and transgender meetings even now in chads job with DOD. Guess that’s just for the idiots. Sad and stupid they should have to but it’s for the pricks
3 ups, 7y,

I'd probably be bugged with having to go to the meetings, but I just don't like meetings as a general rule. I think all the politically correct language is balderdash, but that's because I think that whatever people want to be, so be it. I just can't figure why people care what others do or become when it doesn't directly affect them. But I think that's the general discontent nowadays: when some people are brought up a certain way they stick to it and expect others to abide by it as well.

No this is not common in the armed forces, if you are caught either using racial slurs, being prejudice against other religions, nationality, gender or any other thing that would bring discredit upon them self, their country or the United States armed forces they would be tossed out on there ass so fast they would not know what hit them.

I figure the idea is to defend all Americans regardless of ethnicity or creed, and to fight for American ideals. This guy just seems needlessly angry. But I stopped commenting with him. Jerk Ken was raising his head. ;P

yea some people like to talk out there ass when they dont know what there talking about. Most of them dont have any real life experiences and thats why they are dead set a certain way. I will tell you a lot of my views changed after deployments to Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan and been to to Iraq 3 times. Anyway i had certain views on certain people and then after seeing a different side my views completely changed, and this is coming from a Infantrymen where our first and primary mission was to kill, but with that said you see things you never would have seen your introduced into a hole new world basically. But I guess my point in my little rant is these people a lot of them that talk out there ass dont have any kind of experiences to back there beliefs up with. Like my oldest son, he is 13 and he always tells me that he is smarter than i am, the other day i told him I said you keep saying your smarter than me but, you may have me beet as far as actual school goes yea you extremely smart probably the smartest in your grade but you lack common sense and life experiences so there for you are not smarter than me.
2 ups, 7y
And then did you box his ears? XD XD Anyway, yeah, you need both intelligence and experiences. Obviously I haven't the kind of experiences you've had - Kosovo??? you must be my age? - but I try hard to see it through other's eyes, even if I disagree. Memeosis-whatever-the-hell-he-calls-himself seems incapable of ingraining experience gleamed through others, and I kinda doubt he had smarts to begin with. You obviously have intelligence AND huge life experience. I'm completely in awe and respect of your ability to do as you just said. So box my ears if you ever see me start talking sh!t about stuff you know. :)

I think you are reffering to 'Hygge' Which is a very happy and cozy time where you spend time with family and friends or even alone if thats your thing. We are the only country who uses that saying but its a hard thing to explain, you kinda have to try it to understand it if you know what i mean.

Yeah, that's it. I think the article said it wasn't directly translatable either. not necessarily a lot of familial warmth in Portland, but lots of hip young urbanites getting drunk and driving up the rents. :D

I try to remain mostly hilarious but as you can see below I sometimes find that hard. Anyway, thanks for checking in, and once I get done with some work I'll stop by and check out your creations. :)

That is sad. What did you learn in school? And what were you fighting for? If just to be part of some group, some collection of people who can call themselves American in some way it is pointless. The United States of America is not just like Russia or China or Nepal; not here merely to exist and to have people lay down their lives pointlessly for some piece of cloth or geographical region or racial conformity. America exists as an idea; an idea of liberty and freedom and rights. Not to be toyed with by some angry wingnut with a mental illness. Anyway, not every person who has served this country in the armed forces is a saint - if indeed you have served, I only have your (anonymous) word for it - for millions have had wrong-headed ideas. Those who fight for liberty and ideals of democracy and individual autonomy have my everlasting gratitude. Those who bitterly lament the gains of those who obtain equal opportunity and stumble about attempting to keep others from their freedoms have nothing but my condemnation for their fascistic ideas. So realize you are outclassed here and go back to your remedial alt-right sites. Auf Wedersehen.

I'm not a leftist. You assume that because people on the right have no ideas of worth so disparagement of others is the only modus operandi. I support equal opportunity and know equal outcomes are impossible. That's called intelligence. America providing FOR the rest of the world provides FOR it's citizens. That's called free trade and advancing American values. With every tweet and misbegotten 'idea' Trump weakens this beautiful country and guarantees a second-class status for it - after decades of dominance - if he's not hindered by those who love this great nation and it's true values (indeed his own party realizes this and fights him). Reagan would be repulsed by Trump; he stands against all the things Ronnie stood for: free trade and individual liberty. I wasn't a fan of Reagan, those he hired for the executive didn't have the best interests of this country at heart, but I knew the man loved his country and tried his best. I don't think you do. I think you're in love with the idea of hating others, instead of thinking out problems. And I'm 51 years old, so I have at least as much experience as you. The difference is that I have an open mind and a brain I actually use.

Also, I don't write these things for you. I know you'll never be converted (mainly because I suspect mental issues are behind it). I write these hings for others who look in. Just continue to check the upvotes in comparison.
