When they are saying "soul-less" they are talking about how science views us based off of evolutionary theories, in which there is no God or afterlife and we emerged from processes that took place on a 100% pure chaotic random chance. But if we go off of God creating us instead through intelligent design, then there is a possibility that like us animals have a soul.
