You have a major portion of the story incorrect but don't let that stop you from being offended by it. Right wing phony outrage is what this site is all about.
Stop with the yall shit because you don't know a damn thing about me. The first story I read on this topic only mentioned that she said other districts were more in need of them. I've since read more and you're right that she objects to the content based on the background of the author and the influences from the era when most of the books were written, saying that racist tropes informed the composition of many of the characters. And I can't argue against her on that point. Racism and bigotry are often unintended but still impactful. If she chooses to decline the books that's her outlook, not mine. Her administration however stated she didn't have the authority to accept or decline the gift. I'm not sure how that works out but it doesn't bother me. So either way you're right. You can go right ahead and be offended that this librarian decided to speak out against racism in the highly offensive manner that she chose.
She sees them as racist. And some of the characters could be seen as based on stereotypes of his day. Therefore as a white person I don't judge her if she takes exception to them. And your wtf Picard could be seen as taking exception, at least. If not offense. Don't act like you made the meme to express no opinion whatsoever.

You're picking the parts you don't like and responding to them. Par for the course here. I responded to your meme with incomplete info but I conceded that and corrected myself after you pointed out what I missed. I think that's rational. I don't understand why you don't see using the Picard smh meme is a way of showing that you take exception to what she did. That's the opinion you seem to express with that meme. It seems to me that's what that meme is for. Taking exception in a derisive manner. But the reason I said you don't know me is because you assumed I was whining on election night.
