The highest murder rates are mostly in the states that still allow corporal punishment in schools; and they also have higher problems with bullying domestic violence etc. Income and education is worse in these states.

Check the profiles on most of the school shooters - They weren't abused.

Crazy people are, well, ... crazy. You can't appeal to them with programs and logic.
