Futurama Fry Meme | "SEEN AS IMMORAL" DOESN'T MEAN LITERALLY IMMORAL | image tagged in memes, futurama fry | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
I haven't seen every other atheist appear immoral to one another. A lot of atheists are friendly to each other more than half of the time.
If anything, a lot of Christians and Muslims judge others of their community as immoral, hence calling one another "not Christian", or "not Muslim", etc.
Now if atheists are seen as immoral, I can get that, but it's rarely from other atheists. Atheists being seen as immoral is usually a habit among religious individuals trying to hide their fear that there is someone who isn't scared of a diety.

I'm repeating what this study found among the participants. These are liberal/left of center news sources reporting on it.

If there was confirmation bias involved (if it were a religious organization trying to discredit unbelievers) I'm sure these news organizations would have pointed that out. This kind of study is the "court of public opinion" which believes that someone is more likely to be an immoral or bad person if they don't have a time honored foundation for morality.

The sources are reporting that atheists are more likely to be suspected of evil than religious people. However, neither say that atheists are capable of doing as evil deeds as the religious suspect them of doing.

"Citing four different studies, Zuckerman states: "Murder rates are actually lower in more secular nations and higher in more religious nations where belief in God is widespread." He also states: 'Of the top 50 safest cities in the world, nearly all are in relatively non-religious countries.'"

Several studies also inform us that atheists are far less likely to commit crimes than people following a religion.

Either way, I'm not going to stop being an atheist just because I could get judged.

Just to be clear, I'm not "flaunting" the findings of this study to say, "Christians are better than atheists." I don't believe that we are and as a matter of fact I know that I'm not "better" or morally superior or righteous.

All I am is forgiven by God's grace.
I believe that the Creator of all things has standards for his creation and because I know so much more about his standards than even the average Christian (let alone an unbeliever) and I still fall short so much, I am worse than many Christians and unbelievers.
