Ok so you trust yourself to vote in corrupt politicians but not vote on the issues themselves. You're fighting against yourself

Me? No, I trust MYSELF for both, what I don't trust is EVERYBODY ELSE. Your average voter is too stupid and ill informed on all the issues in enough detail to make these decisions and balance them off with all the other concerns and demands on the tax monies. They aren't even to blame. Unless you are retired/have no life, it is a full time job keeping up with all of that, which is why we pick Representatives to do that job and prevent the electorate from voting the Government bankrupt.

Yet you espouse direct democracy, interesting. (One of my two was Psychology, the other Biochemistry)

The powers that be will neither allow virtuous philosophers to teach kings to rule wisely nor the people to govern themselves. But I'm going to fight like hell for governing ourselves as in the process of doing so we learn better in just how to do that.

Tell you what, why don't you try it out in NK, then when it fails, try it out in France.
