Actually, I think it's more than an app, there's probably some hardware involved.
It is an awesome feature, however. I can be in a bar and change the channel or in a hotel room, I don't have to use the remote that's in the room. They say that remotes in hotels have more bacteria than the bathrooms, plus, they don't work half the time. I used to travel a lot for work, so having that on my phone was awesome!
