I hate seeing memes in other languages that are FEATURED while I'm sitting here waiting for my meme to get featured!

Few weeks ago I was commenting on a meme that the OP didn't even know was submitted. She thought it was private all the time and that some us hacked into her account. lol

I'm talking about one being created for submission. It was weird. I'm "Hey! At least let me finish!" lol

Just because it's free doesn't give the operators of the site the license to ignore users' concerns. Even though we're not paying anything, our "clicks" on this site is what justifies what the operators of the site are charging the advertisers. Treat us badly enough and users will go away.

There is also a paid membership on this site. Did you just asume that I'm not a paying member?

I think things should be equitable across the board. If I have a meme that doesn't get featured for some mystic reason and I see a meme that clearly violates the guidelines then yes, I will call BS.

I disagree, hope you can listen to my point. I think the submission guidelines are suggestions for improving the odds of having your submission feature, they are not rules. I notice most foreign language memes have titles in English, so those appear to meet the submission guidelines. Nowhere in the terms of service (the rules you agreed to when you signed up) imgflip.com/terms does it say English only.

Please go back and look at my meme. The words in the lower part of the meme are a direct quote and I'll provide them for you once again here...capitalized letters for emphasis...

"Imgflip's FEATURED images are currently english-only. Memes or text exclusively in another language WILL NOT BE FEATURED."

Usually they leave the standard stock title on a template and then it's all "Yo soy muy hermoza cervazas por favor!" or "Donde es la biblioteca?" or "Fromage du omellette" or "allah ackbar FLEM"

So, I listened to your point, you MAY HAVE listened to my point, but in the end it's just like two people debating the meaning of militia in the second amendment. We'll never change anything.

I only cited the Submission Guidelines that appear every time that you submit a meme.

There's a major difference - don't try to win this by throwing up something that I didn't say, it makes you look like a total ASS!

Imgflip's featured images are currently english-only. Memes or text exclusively in another language will not be featured." That appears every time one submits a meme. The titles in english are almost always the default titles (Be Like Bill or whatever). I don't see how that ought to get them off the hook when the meme text is all non_english. That would be against the spirit of the law as it were. Or are we sposed to go "Hey no sweat! As long as I see 'Conspiracy Keanu' as the title I'm good"? lol

Exactly...I always make sure that I flag the meme and put "Not English" in the comment!

I don't know if it does any good, but it makes me feel better!

Of course the instructions are in english so maybe at least some wdn't understand the statement I quoted anyway. :D

Goes for illiterates too, I suppose...I've seen some of them on here as well...they're probably the 8 year olds trying to pass as 13!
