"Et tu, Brute?" Comes down to us from Shakespeare, as well as some other earlier English playwrights. His actual supposed last words were the Greek phrase (transliterated) "su kai teknon?" which means, "you too, child?" and are reported to us by the Roman historian Suetonius, who himself says the story is apocryphal and that Caesar said nothing.
