The media's job is to create conflict, in any facet: political media, celebrity (tabloid) media, sports media, etc. If there is a conflict, their job is to blow it out of proportion, and if there is none, they need to make one up or fabricate its means.

The good news is that it's alt-media, not msm. So far, the only news sources carrying this type of headline are news sources aimed at the African-American market. Unfortunately, sensationalist headlines have been part of America's heritage since Ben Franklin set his first type. I doubt if bringing back the fairness doctrine would cure it.

I checked more mainstream news sources which only mention he was the president of the UNLV chapter of The Black Engineers Society.
