I think this might sum up everyone's views of the 'latest' section . . .

Just like pop music, and mass media: it's usually not of good quality.

And yet, every day, I search through Latest.
Not if there's actually new stuff on the memes front page, but definitely for pie charts. And often for memes. I look at Latest all the time, give upvotes, and find decent stuff in the crap.
Why? No clue at all. Probably because Hot has the exact same stuff every day and I just wait for something actually new to reach the front page. Also because latest has actual good stuff in there somewhere, and I want it to be noticed.
But at the end, why DO I search through Latest this much? Despite the crap in there?

Fair enough, when I remember I do, and the pie might be exaggerated slightly, because sometimes there's some completely fine stuff in there. Unfortunately most of the time, the front page of 'Latest' is the closest to the front page they'll ever get. Oh well, we do what we can, but that is all we can do. We'll just have to make do with it, because you can't upvote something more than once. :)

Not unless you have multiple accounts.
Hey, maybe the reason certain memes get so many upvotes is because the person who made them has multiple accounts and they upvoted their own meme a ton of times.

Quite possibly, and I know there are certainly some people put there guilty of doing that . . .
