You don't seem to understand just how high the standards are for breaking that law, do you? You could say "I hope someone kills the president", and it won't be illegal, because you aren't planning to do it yourself. You could even say "I wish I could kill the president", and it won't be illegal, because you aren't planning to actually do it. Was it tasteless? Yeah. Was it illegal? Not even close.
Oh the double standard is real. They will just blame it on President Trump for stirring up all this hate across the nation. Like they already are. Great meme by the way!
I am willing to bet that rodeo clown suffered a lot more in the loss of his job, than she will for her one night gig at CNN and the one as "Poop Lady."

If you have actually checked lately, she lost her position with CNN on the New Years Eve Special she has done the last 10 years and even lost some bizarre ad with a toilet seat company. So don't worry, she is being punished, even though she didn't actually threaten the president like people are making it out to be. Ted Nugent on the other hand has threatened Obama and Hillary and nothing happens to him.
I am in no way defending Nugent or any other crack pot who physically threatens someone based on political affiliation but holding a bloody head of Trump? Really? Who seriously thought that would be a great publicity stunt?
It's not funny, and to me, could easily be perceived as a threat. I am guessing that the reason she retracted so quickly had to do with being contacted by the Secret Service.
No reports state she was contacted by secret service. Nugent on the other hand has been investigated by the secret service different times because of his comments. The reason she reacted so quickly is because of all the negativity she recived on twitter from it, not to mention the comments from the President and his family.
Thanks everybody!
