Apropos of nothing: there's a taproom here in Portland called The Big Legrowlski that my friend and I have been to several times. Went there last Friday and my friend returns from the bathroom and says "there's a bowling theme in the bathroom, like that movie I loaned you that you haven't returned". I look around at all the stuff on the walls about the movie and the white Russian tap and say "and you haven't noticed why the place might be called The Big Legrowlski?" :P

This place sounds awesome :)

The owner is Australian, and while we were sitting there one afternoon having good beers he was playing us old, rare AC/DC. :)

What a strange trip it was

This is me with a good days catch last February. Made a meme about my feelings with global warming as weather so much different than when I was a kid . But it's stuff like ice fishing that makes me happy that I am alive! Lol!

Yeah, when I was a kid here in Oregon winter consisted of cold rain; this last couple seasons we've had snow and ice that shut the city down (nothing for someone in the midwest, but we're not programmed for that here). Summers were usually around 82 degrees with a few days in the 90s; now it's three or so weeks in the 90s with several days in the 100s. Global climate change is real to those of us with longer memories.

As a kid I lived on the Canadian border in northern vt . We have a lake called Champlain. I can remember right after deer hunting ended we would be ice fishing. Talking late November early December. Now that lake doesn't freeze until late January at best! It really pisses me off when I hear there's no global warming when it's changed drastically in only 30 years.

People are in denial because the want the good times to last. Well the bad/good news is that those times are gone regardless of what the cheeto boy in the oval office wants. It is cheaper now to build solar arrays and wind turbines than it is to dig coal out of the ground. Instead of giving false hope to miners in West Virginia and Kentucky we should be working on new industries and services the next generations can get jobs from. No amount of rallying mindlessly around Trump is going to change the facts on the ground.

I just couldn't resist. Lol :)
