Unless you can fund your own campaign from primarily public donations like sanders did or take corporate funds ( now that corporations are people according to Supreme Court decision) like everyone else.

I know Trump had some kind of patreon or gofundme for his early campaign. Not sure about the rest.

He wasn't self funded like Bernie

Can't agree on that one! Trumps voters were mostly poorly educated right wing republicans. Bernie had the young educated voters ralling at his campaign. Clinton was the pre ordained choice of the DNC and looked what happened!

Demographically, actual trump voters were poor, but that's because of the wealth gap between New York/Cali/Coasts VS everywhere else. It's a shocking gap. Regardless, right wingers vote more.

I read Bernie's book. Trump used borrowed heavily from it in order to motivate poor right wingers. It worked.

Bernie lost. Even with some voter suppression, it's obvious the left wing has serious lack of voting problems.

I don't know if the leftwing is capable of producing a populist candidate that isn't a communist. And no. Bernie's not a communist. Not by his own or international standards.

Sadly, the dems hopes rest almost entirely on #justicedemocrats

Bernie lost because of DNC shenanigans . Hillary was the liberal elites first choice. Sanders equated the same as Trump in being far from both parties standard bearer. Trump lost the popular vote even with Clintons unpopularity , the second Republican victory because of the electoral college.(so much for the claim of the lefts 'serious voting problems ' . ) If anything Trump and the Republicans have awoken the Democrats and anyone else who can walk and chew gum
