You got me curious so I looked the lyrics up. It's 'revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night'. Like people mis-hearing Jimi Hendrix singing 'scuse me while I kiss this guy'. ;) Apparently 'deuce' meant a hot rod. Probably why Bruce Springsteen did a cover.

Eh, I first heard the song when I was a kid. I had only heard the word 'douche' and didn't really know what it meant, only that it didn't make sense in the song. The article I skimmed said it was the number one misheard lyric; Hendrix's was number two. I grew up in the '70s so I understood the 'Purple Haze' lyric.
