"Human reasoning" is for humans, chickens have their own reasoning - one of which their survival - not a trip to Walmart - depends upon on on a moment by moment basis.
Curiosity IS a motivation, and the root of reasoning.
However, given how incredibly stupid humans are, I doubt many use any reasoning for anything whatsoever, especially with smart phones to guide them through their mundane lives,,,
