Thanks very much, rpc1. I created it and this one, imgflip.com/i/1pv6t0, for my online fly fishing store (percysflies.com).

Rpc1, believe it or not, I live in a wilderness area in the far northern reaches of New Hampshire. It's an area called Millsfield, but has never been incorporated as a town. The total population of people is 26. There are far more bears, moose, deer, etc., than there are people in this area. And there is a trout stream that goes through the property. So 'getting out in the woods' is basically stepping through my back door. All the very best to you.

That's awesome Wayne! New Hampshire is one of the few states I've never had the opportunity to visit! Hopefully, someday I'll get the chance! I'm in Alabama sitting on 200 acres out in the middle of the woods! Plenty of deer turkey and small game! I was raised hunting and fishing! My Mother always said I was born a hundred years too late! The best to you too my friend! :)

Well I hope that some day, our paths will cross. It sounds like we have an awful lot in common.

Yes, it does sound like we do! :) Never know Wayne I love to travel and as I said there's five States I haven't been to, and they are all there in the Northeast corner of the Country! :)

Good to know, I'll pass the website on to a some friends. For years I've had the idea of a multi week canoe trip near there, Mooselookmeguntic- Richardson-Umbagog chain of lakes into the Androscoggin. I know it would have some portage, maybe just start on Umbagog. Is that a trip you've heard people make? Is that River good to canoe from the lake to Errol or Berlin or too shallow/rocky?

I believe that you could very well make it to Berlin. Of course you'd have to portage around the hydro-dams.

Thanks, and great memes! I appreciate it. One of my favorite parts of Maine is Grafton Notch, I'll need to keep going a little further north up Rt 26 next time I make it up to that part of New England.

Having seen firsthand the positive and negative effects of American Skiing Company's impacts on ski areas on and past the brink, I'm wondering if you have an opinion on Les Otten's redevelopment of The Balsams? There is so much potential benefit and impact on Coos County. What's your take?
1 up, 7y
I am hopeful, but at the same time very skeptical. Without someone rescuing the Balsams, it will certainly continue to crumble. Coos County is losing jobs, and needs jobs very badly. Because of the lack of jobs, the younger generation is leaving Coos County to go to other areas with opportunities. Thus, the population of Coos County decreases each year. Property values drop because there are far more houses for sale than there are buyers. On the other hand, I fully appreciate Les Otten’s past, and fear that he could file bankruptcies as he has in the past, leaving many victims. In short, while I am hopeful, I am equally skeptical.
