Luckily they seem unable to get along together despite claims of ideological similarities. I'm not a religious man but I keep praying for Justice Ginsburg's health to last four more years.

Look at what the Republican party is doing to itself trying to rally around a man who proves every day he is not fit for power He's proved to the World he's a Lair! He has no credibility! Yet they're all standing behind the man all worried more about their own political careers than the Country! And the sad fact is you know darn good and well all the good old boy insiders, the real politicians can't stand him! From where I from we call that swallowing all the Pride you may have had and Kissing someone's ass! I never Remark about Politics but this guy really thinks he's King Donald J Trump and he's above all the laws of the land! :)

I know what you mean. Ted Cruz may be the only politician that 's a bigger asshat than Trump, and even he couldn't bring himself to support the turd at the GOP convention. I'm thinking this whole Russia/Comey mess may turn into a Watergate for him, or at least dent his support among the more rank and file Republican voter. Just need a few hundred thousand of those to stay home in 2018 and 2020 and maybe we can reduce the long-term damage.

I think the fuse is lite on his presidency at he'll not serve out his term! It's all in his Tax returns and I can't believe the American voter is happy with him not showing them! just sad!

Well with popularity polls in the low 30s I don't the overall American voter is happy, but with this Comey firing I think the sh!t is on it's way down. At least it took Nixon about four years to get his Watergate comeuppance, apparently Trump is too impatient to wait.

Something else that grinds my gears is all this mess about the News and reporters! People making a mockery of the first Amendment! We should all be glad we're in a Country that has the right to exercise free speech, many have fought and died to preserve this right!

Amen. I'll believe a reporter I don't necessarily know over a president who doesn't have my best interests at heart.

In the same vein I just submitted this: imgflip.com/i/1p2uu2

Problem is, the economy is on its cyclical upswing, and will peak in time for his reelection. With his rabid base and own party intimidated by him or using him to push through their own agenda, he will continue to turn this developing dictatorship into a wrecking ball for our institutions and the very concept of America itself.
People banking on an irate public voting Republicans out of office to help balance things out haven't been paying attention to the last two decades. Plus Democrats have a tendency to wimp out and go along with legislation they allegedly are against for bogus reasons, so counting on them is naive.

Unless he is impeached or forced to resign or otherwise ousted from office, we've just become another third world despotic regime.

Trump is wrecking free trade concepts which will put big dents in the economy. He's also approaching Watergate-style corruption problems, if the last few days are any indication. Call me a mindless optimist if you want, but he started in a three-million vote hole and is doing nothing to pull Clinton voters his way. Plus his obnoxious personality coupled with being exposed for brainlessness every few days will wear on him, even against 'rabid' supporters; after all, not everyone who voted for him was a 'rabid' supporter, some held their noses to vote for him because they didn't like Hillary.

I agree. I'm just overly cynical.

I told people who said he had no chance of winning that I have one word: George W Bush. TWICE.
And seems some are not so fervent in support as before. Even the trolling regarding here on this site and others has declined.

The DNC screwed up royally banking on Clinton. It would be funny if it wasn't him and what he's doing.

Hard to be over cynical now what with the Comey firing over the weekend. The hounds are beginning to circle. ;) And W. Bush got into office the same way, with the electoral college though losing the popular vote. He won reelection due to the events of Sept.11th, 2001 and people's concern for the wars he got us into. The one thing Trump has miraculously done is made W. Bush look good in comparison. :P

It's kind of scary, because like what was happening with W Bush - how he was given more power - it seems the Republicans are furthering this. And this time minus the wartime excuse.
Not to sound too whatever, but are we witnessing the dismemberent of our system, checks and balances slowly erased in favor of a more autocratic one?
Plus with trying to delegitimatize the press as well,,,

Sad but true and funny too, he's making Bush seem not so bad.

I do think Trump is trying to further a more autocratic style. Being a 'businessman' he doesn't understand democratic systems. I think he feels he can wake up and tweet things to his liking. My mom is a lifelong Democrat but she, being of the older generation, would usually end up supporting whoever was president. A couple months ago I was visiting her and the news was on TV. She turned to me and said "it's pretty bad when you can't even be proud of your president".
