That shoe, which appears to be of a woman, seems to be kept on the famous Hindu scripture called the Manu Smriti, presumably as a sign of revolt against its misogynist nature. A copy of that book was also famously burnt in public in 1927 by a man (B. R. Ambedkar) who is credited as the father of the Indian constitution. However, the same constitution would presumably criminalize any vilification of the Quran, when the Quran is seemingly no less misogynist than the aforementioned Hindu scripture. Not only that, a public abuse of the Islamic scripture would also incur alarming wrath of the Muslim community. And the funniest irony is that women got no balls anyway.
